UCWRFC is heading into yet another spring season but this time, as Division I Women’s Rugby Fall National Champions! We could not be more psyched to kick-off the season with practices starting on Monday, February 1st. With the hard work ready to be put in, the spring will be full of great matches, including those over in Scotland in March.
Help kickstart our season by checking us out at the involvement fair tomorrow (Wednesday, January 27th) from 2-7pm in Gampel Pavilion. We will also be holding an informational meeting on Thursday, January 28th at 8:30pm in Austin 344, hope to see you all there!
UCWRFC will be hosting an Alumni game at Depot Campus on April 10th (11 a.m. kick-off time)! We will also be distributing t-shirts at the event, they are $15 each so be sure to check out the link below and get yours today. We cannot wait to see our awesome alums there!
UCWRFC not only had a great turnout at the involvement fair and informational meeting last week, but also at this past Saturday’s Pale Shake Fundraiser which will contribute to the team’s trip to Scotland in March. We would like to thank all who supported or donated to us, it is greatly appreciated!
Moving forward, UCWRFC is pumped for the first practice of the Spring semester tonight (from 6:30-8pm in the Fieldhouse), there is no place we would rather be! Be sure to stay tuned for more news about the team as we progress throughout our season.
The season is not over yet for UConn Women’s Rugby! UCWRFC continues an undefeated fall season after their last conference game against Boston College, winning 49 – 3, respectfully.
Despite coping with injuries throughout the season, the work ethic and dynamics of the team have not been compromised. With a strong rookie class and a devoted veteran class, the team has progressed with each game played.
Now apart of the top eight in the nation, UCWRFC prepares for the first round of nationals in Pittsburgh, Penn. Relying on a sturdy foundation, great communication and strong leadership, the team will give it their all and #LeaveItOnThePitch.
Welcome to another rugby season with UCWRFC! Our first game is home at Depot Campus against Boston College this Saturday September 12. We can’t wait to get back on the pitch and play our hearts out.
